Guest Bloggers- Beau and Courtney Krpicak
Today’s post is from a guest blogger, Courtney Krpicak, about the overseas missions work she and her husband are involved in!
Hello, everyone! I pray strength accompanied you this morning alongside the madness Monday so often brings. I’m Courtney and my husband’s name is Beau. Originally from the hills of West Virginia, we are missionaries in Zambia, Africa serving with Overland Missions. Beau and I met after a stateside missions trip to Mississippi through our home church. Since that day, almost 5 years ago, we have watched the Lord intertwine our paths and solidify our callings; exceeding our every expectation of what a life together could look like. For us, having once lived our lives consumed with the things of this world, can do nothing else but now rejoice in our Savior’s perfect love, grace, and redemption, and to share that with the nations!
Through divine appointments we came across Overland Missions at a missions conference in Lakeland, Florida. Shortly after, Beau went on his first expedition to Zambia, Africa in June of 2010. It was there that the Lord unleashed His desires in Beau’s heart and Beau not only fell in love with Overland’s organization, its staff, and its vision; but with the salvation of the nations. Beau continued to return to Overland’s mission base in Zambia for the next two years and joined staff in 2011.
I joined the organization a bit differently; yet fell in love just the same! I made my first trip to Zambia in the summer of 2012 after leading my first mission trip to Ivanovo, Russia. I was sent primarily to teach the missionary children living on the base. During those 3 months, I became overwhelmed with peace and confidence in the adventure the Lord had designed for my future family and me. After sharing the story of Jesus with a young woman who had never even heard His name, my whole understanding of a “missionary” shifted and I knew that my life was delivered in order to bring deliverance to the nations through the power of Jesus! I joined staff alongside Beau in October 2012, after being married on the 20th of that month!
We serve an incredible ministry! Overland Missions exists to take the Gospel to the most remote and forgotten places on earth. This vision is being met by a series of stages beginning with evangelism, and then transitioning into discipleship, humanitarian care, and eventually sustainability. Today, Beau and I actively serve in Overland’s Expedition Department, evangelizing and seeing souls brought into salvation. There, we lead teams of 10-30 people (from the states and other countries) into the bush for two weeks, seeking unreached tribes and solely telling them the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ – the hope that they seek!
Our next adventure begins this April, where we will be leaving for a 6-month stay in Zambia! This season we will prepare for and lead 4 expedition teams into the bush, as well as, I will be taking part in Advanced Missions Training, Overland’s intensive 3-month training program. We are anxious to get back “home” and are convinced there is no greater occupation than laboring for the harvest!
We consider it a privilege to travel to the Nations, seeing firsthand the very character of the God we serve through the dark, fragile, and often time’s filthy faces of His children. We willingly give our lives to reaching others with the gospel and take seriously the mandate given to us in Matthew 10:8 “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers and may you walk in Christ’s redemption wherever you travel!
