The Fast

Fasting- Negativity, day 12

This week  I am focusing on positive prayer.

There are so many negative things going on around us that it takes herculean effort to be positive.  I have to do it on purpose.  I have to be positively prayerful at all times.

Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty.  To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people).  Ephesians 6:18

Negative news calls for prayer.  When I see a post on facebook about the government, failed health care issues, sickness, suffering – I pray.  It does God no good for us to sink into despair.  Despair is a tool of the devil.

Faith. Hope. Encouragement. Prayer Words are full of power. Praying God’s Word is the most powerful prayer. These are God’s tools.

I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me (I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infused inner strength into me: I am self-sufficient in Christ’s  sufficiency].  Philippians 4:13

Whatever mission God has given you- do it.  Don’t look to the left or the right or fall back in fear to lick your wounds.  Keep marching.  If it is to write- keep writing. If it is to sing- keep singing.  If it is to teach-keep teaching. Keep praying positively!

Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants made known to God.  Philippians 4: 6

Just a note:  Paul wrote the letter to the Philippians from jail, Rome was a waning empire destined to fall because it was built on false gods and the people of the day were apathetic and social pursuits became more important than governing themselves.

One last note from What if Jesus had Never Been Born:
“Should we not be concerned for the poor?  Absolutely, Local churches, private charities, families being concerned about people, community charities helped people-these have been the ways that America solved this problem for almost 300 years.  but now we have tried something else.  We have decided to help the poor through the socialistic method of government intervention, which has never worked anywhere else.”

Time-saving Tuesday
hi, I’m Kathleen Guire I know you want quality Christian books for your family. In order to find them, you need to scour the library and bookstores. The problem is- not only is it a lot of work, but you often purchase a NY Times best seller or book recommended by a friend- only to find it has content you don’t want your family consuming. Content you feel as if you need to redact. You may feel as if there aren’t any new clean books that cover culturally relevant topics without graphic sex scenes and F*bombs. I believe books can be culturally relevant and clean at the same time. That’s why I write fiction mystery/thrillers your whole family can read. I write books that are wholesome with moral with value and plot twists at the same time. My characters have quirky coping mechanisms that are equivalent with their experience. All of my fiction books have a human trafficking theme.
